Springbok lock Victor Matfield will miss the next three weeks of Vodacom Super Rugby action to have cartilage removed from his knee.
Matfield saw Dr Daan Du Plessis, renowned knee specialist in Pretoria on Tuesday morning and confirmed his fears that his knee wasn’t quite up to playing for a while again.
The Bok lock will undergo surgery on Wednesday and is likely to be out for up to three weeks.
