Malakai Fekitoa hasn't ruled out playing in a Rugby World Cup

Former All Black centre Malakai Fekitoa - who now plays for Toulon in the Top 14 - hasn't ruled out playing in a Rugby World Cup again.

Fekitoa, a 24-Test cap All Black and World Cup winner in 2015 said he was still young enough and hoped he would have the chance to play a World Cup again.

The 26-year-old won't be available to the All Blacks for the 2019 World Cup as the All Blacks don't select overseas-based players.

"The World Cup is the pinnacle of rugby. Around the world everyone wants to participate. Obviously, I know how we feel when we play for our country and that we win, because the last time I was part of it.

"But I have no regrets because I do what I love. I play rugby in another country now and it's great to be here," he told rugbyrama.fr.

Fekitoa said he has enjoyed time in Toulon.

"This is what is great with rugby: appreciate when you are on the field but also when you are off the field. We only play for a certain number of years, so we have to make the most of it," he said.

Fekitoa said he was feeling more comfortable going into a new season, after a testing start to his time in France. 

"I know the environment better, I feel at home in Toulon now, especially since I can speak a little more of the language.

"It was hard [last year]. I did not know anyone, there was the language barrier and the difficulties associated with moving to another country," he said.

Fekitoa said there was a chance that lack of stability could affect performance but he had managed to avoid that and had been happy with his performances last season.

"I think I had some impact on the team when I arrived and at the end of the season. As I said, I now have some stability and I am happy in my personal life. I know more people, everything is easier. It makes things easier. I think this year it's going to be okay. I'm also looking forward to welcoming Liam [Messam] and Julian [Savea]," he said.
