Leinster make it four in a row
- 1948
Leinster were crowned Pro14 champions after a 16-6 win over rivals Munster in the Final. Leinster started fast, bossing both territory and possession, with Ross Byrne slotting two penalties to open up a 6-0 lead after just 11 minutes. Munster got on the board with a Joey Carbery penalty shortly after and began to find some rhythm as the first half progressed. Munster missed two shots at goal towards the end of the first half, as a long range Conor Murry penalty went wide and then Carbery was off target from the tee a few minutes later. Despite these misses, Munster would head into the break all square at 6-6, with a successful Carbery penalty bringing the first half to a close.
The deadlock was broken by Leinster just six minutes into the second half, as a pick and drive from man of the match Jack Conan saw him muscle his way over the line from close range for the games first try to make it 13-6. Ross Byrne missed a penalty with 25 minutes to play, but Leinster continued to smother Munster as their dominance over both territory and possession continued. Munster could not get out of their own half and the pressure eventually told as Ross Byrne kicked Leinster into an all important two score lead with a penalty with a little over ten minutes to play. Leinster's relentless stranglehold on the game would last all the way to the final whistle, as they sealed their fourth straight Pro14 title.
