Leicester Tigers have agreed new deals with seven members of the club’s senior squad.
Nic Dolly, Calum Green, Joe Heyes, Hanro Liebenberg, Guy Porter, Harry Potter and Matt Scott have recommitted to the journey under Steve Borthwick.
Included within the group are academy graduates, international representatives, as well as four players who are aged 25 or under.
Speaking about the seven renewals, Leicester Tigers Head Coach Steve Borthwick said it was an ‘exciting day’ for the club.
“I believe today is an exciting day, with seven players committing to what we are building at Leicester Tigers,” he said.
“I hope the supporters are pleased by seeing these seven, high-quality players and people extend their time with the club.”
The Tigers boss also believes the mix of youth and experience within the group stands out as a positive sign for what is to come.
“We have a lot of young guys here, who have very exciting futures and I believe it shows the potential for growth within this team,” added Borthwick.
“Then we have some senior players as well, who are really important in helping this young group develop on this journey.”
Borthwick also praised the common traits, most notably the ‘spirit’ of the seven Tigers, in his assessment of the group.
“All in all, these seven renewals are incredibly exciting for the team, the club and our supporters as we continue to move forward,” Borthwick said.
“There is a lot you can say about all of these men; their work ethic, their toughness or their commitment to one another but, I think most of all, there is a clear link in the spirit they have shown when representing Leicester Tigers that is most pleasing and promising.”
