Ireland Women's Captain out through injury

The IRFU medical team have confirmed that Ireland Women's captain Niamh Briggs has sustained a hamstring that will see her ruled out for the remainder of the Women's Six Nations. 

IRFU made this statement on Briggs:

"A scan on the 57-times capped full-back has confirmed a hamstring injury, ruling Niamh out for the remainder of the Women’s 6 Nations Championship,

"She will work with the IRFU medical staff to rehab the injury over the coming weeks."

Briggs was rested for the opening two Six Nations encounters but further scans have ruled her out for the remainder of the tournament.
