Ireland v Italy | 5 things we learnt
- 1982
Italy scored six tries as they never let Italy in the game beating them comfortably at the Aviva Stadium.
Here are the 5 things we learnt:
Life without Sexton should be fine:
Jack Crowley put on a fine display against Italy. He is looking more comfortable and set up a number of great plays as well as tries.
Set Piece Success:
Ireland's set piece left the field with 100% on scrum and line out. On top of that Italy lost one scrum and 5 line outs on the day.
Discipline:
Ireland will need to tighten up on their discipline having given away 13 penalties against France and 11 against Italy.
Grand Slam Defence On Track:
It would be hard to look past Ireland for the 6 Nations title this year but the Grand Slam defence looks set to go down to the wire with Wales at home in the next fiture and England at Twickenham to wrap things up.
Keenan Injury A Worry:
The fullback has been incredible for Ireloand over the last couple of years, his injury is a concern which could force a reshuffle in the backs moving forward. Farrell and the fans will be hoping it is not serious for the unsung hero.
