James Ryan was with out a doubt the Man of the Match today in Ireland's win over Argentina. 17 carries (tied top on the day with CJ Stander) and 13 from 13 tackles by the lock, combined with immense ruck work and beating 4 defenders saw him take the top accolade on the night.
Bundee Aki and Will Addison:
The Irish midfield were in fine form, all this considering Addison was a late call up following an injury to Henshaw during the warm up. Between the 2 of them they made 26 carries, beat 5 defenders and ran for 69 meters in a tough contest. Aki scored a great try and got over the advantage line on multiple carries. Addison contributed with some great support work and linking to play missing just 1 tackle against one of the deadliest back three combo's on world rugby.
Matias Alemanno & Tomas Lavanini:
The Argentine lock pairing caused havoc for Rory Best in the line out's as well as Ireland with their massive defensive effort. 44 tackles shared between them with just a single miss and 12 carries. They often drove the Irish runners back with huge hits and a few double hits too.
