Howard Packman to join Ealing Trailfinders

Ealing Trailfinders has revealed the signing of Howard Packman from Bedford Blues.

The 22-year-old came through the Academy at Northampton Saints, and made his debut at the age of just 18 against Gloucester in 2013.

He went on to make seven first team appearances for the Saints, but then had brief loan spells at London Scottish and Rotherham Titans before a permanent move to Bedford.

His father Frank played over 300 times for Northampton showing his rugby pedigree, and Packman has also pulled on the Red Rose as he was part of the England Sevens set-up for a year due to his finishing ability.

Director of Rugby Ben Ward is pleased to add some further depth to the back-three for 2018/19 campaign:

“Howard is a quality winger and has had a great year at Bedford. He has electric pace and especially on our pitch I’m sure he will be a real weapon for us in attack next year.”

Packman was part of the England Under 20s team which won the World Cup in 2014, making 14 appearances alongside players such as Maro Itoje and Harry Sloan.
