Henry Slade’s prospects of slipping on to the world stage via the side door
can be strongly enhanced by an impressive performance in Europe today.

young pretender to the England No 10 shirt — as competition for places in
Stuart Lancaster’s summer training squad and final World Cup party continues
to intensify — will be hoping to shine against Newcastle Falcons.



Lancaster, the England head coach, is sure to be interested in the game at
Sandy Park, where Exeter Chiefs will be attempting to reach the last four of
