Hartzenberg stays on at the Stormers until 2027

Speedster Suleiman Hartzenberg has been added to the list of DHL Stormers who have signed-on to stay in Cape Town until 2027.

The 21-year-old who is equally at home in midfield or on the wing, joins teammates Sacha-Feinberg Mngomezulu, Dan du Plessis, Ruben van Heerden, Evan Roos and Manie Libbok in signing a three-year contract extension.

A Cape Town local who was earmarked for big things since starring at schoolboy level for Bishops, Hartzenberg made his DHL Stormers debut at the age of just 19 and has already shown his worth at senior level over the last two seasons.

His form since returning from injury has been impressive, showing a nose for the tryline along with his considerable pace and aerial skills.

Director of Rugby John Dobson said that Hartzenberg is a player with his star on the rise, with even bigger things coming over the next three years.

"Suleiman is a player who has shown incredible natural talent from a young age, yet also has an impressive capacity to take information on and improve his game.

"He was desperately unlucky to miss out on the Junior Springbok campaign last year due to injury, but it is fantastic that his form has been recognised with a call-up to the recent Springbok alignment camps.

"We are thrilled that he has committed to our team and we know that there are even greater things to come from him and the rest of his teammates who have signed with us until 2027," he said.

Hartzenberg said that he could not be happier to sign on with the team he grew up supporting.

"As a Cape Town boy I am living my dream playing for the DHL Stormers and if the last two years are anything to go by, we all have a lot to look forward to.
