Four matches were played on Friday night, with all four home teams taking victory.
Performance of the night was Ulster, in there 5 try demolition of Toulouse. Ulster were on fire from the start, looking more powerful and dynamic in attack against a tired looking Toulouse side. 38-0 the final score, meaning for the first time ever in European cup rugby, Toulouse failed to register a solitary point. Try of the evening was undoubtedly scored by Luke Marshall, latching on to an inch perfect cross field kick from Pienaar.
Cardiff and Montpellier played out an immensely entertaining affair in Wales, with the Blues eventually edging out their French opponents. 37-27 was the full time score, as the sides swapped the lead regularly throughout the match. Josh Navidi bagged a rare brace of tries, which helped him towards picking up the man of the match award in a fine display.
Finally Connacht continued their good form this season with a routine 25-10 victory over Newcastle. Connacht outhalf Jack Carty was in fine form with the boot, landing 6 penalties and a conversion to lead his side to victory.
