Duane Vermeulen called into Springbok squad

Experience no.8 Duane Vermeulen has been called up to the Springboks squad as a replacement for prop Coenie Oosthuizen who sustained a serious knee injury in Saturday's record loss to Ireland. 

Coenie Oosthuizen returned to South Africa after suffering an MCL and ACL tear in his knee. 

Vermeulen comes to cover for Pieter-Steph du Toit who suffered a concussion in the final minutes of the Springboks loss to Ireland. 

The Springboks still have 5 props on tour and have not called in another front rower. 

Vermeulen has 37 Test caps to his name and last played for the Springboks against Ireland in June last year.
