Cooper continues to shine for Brisbane City
- 1438
It was a very rainy day in Brisbane as Brisbane City took on Canberra Vikings. Both teams wanted the win more than anything but the conditions made it a low-score game, contrary to the usual style of NRC games. There were some great moments nonetheless and there were some players who played some good rugby.
Ruan Smith – Brisbane City
Ruan Smith had a brilliant game for Brisbane as he pushed in the scrums, tackled hard and carried the ball so well. He made it very difficult for the Vikings to play against him. It was not all good from him though as he had a few strange decisions but overall, a very good performance from him.
Darcy Swain – Canberra Vikings
Darcy Swain was another forward who had a brilliant game. Continuously tackling and defending against the Brisbane City attack, he really was a driving force in the win for the Vikings today.
Josh Mann-Rea – Canberra Vikings
Another forward who performed well in today’s fixture. Mann-Rea’s named was heard often by the commentators throughout the game as he added his skill to the Canberra Vikings’ arsenal of forwards.
Brandon Paenga-Amosa – Brisbane City
Brandon Paenga-Amosa’s game was not without its issues as he had to leave the field for a short while to be attended to for an eye injury, but as soon as he returned the field it was him who bagged Brisbane’s second try for the day.
Len Ikatou – Canberra Vikings
The first backline player in the top performers, just showing how much of an effect the conditions had on today’s game. Len Ikatou added some class in a brilliant fashion as he also managed to score a try for himself to open up the scoreboard. Ikatou performed throughout his time on the field to help the Vikings take the win.
Quade Cooper – Brisbane City
Quade Cooper is a familiar name amongst so many people and today’s game showed why. Cooper’s ability to kick with his left foot helped Brisbane City in many of the pressurised moments of the game. He also managed to keep the ball in play when it seemed like it was just meant to go out. He was easily Brisbane’s best performer despite the conditions at hand.
Jordan Jackson-Hope – Canberra Vikings
Jordan Jackson-Hope, the man that had it all working at the back for Canberra Vikings. He too managed to have a brilliant game for the Vikings despite the conditions but also managed to stay under the radar with regards to the hard work he did behind the scenes. His work did not go unnoticed as he took the Brisbane’s backline to a higher level of skill.
