Championship Cup Highlights: Munster Rugby Vs Leicester Tigers (Round 03)

Munster ran out 38-0 victors over Leicester in this Champions Cup clash from Thomond Park. Munster started brightly with four Bleyendaal penalties leaving Munster 12-0 up after 30 minutes. A few minutes later Ed Slater was sent to the sin bin for persistent infringements at the breakdown. Munster were able to capitalise on their man advantage as Zebo went over for a well taken try shortly before half time. Munster started the second half as they had finished the first with Jaco Taute scoring two tires in the opening 16 minutes. On the 72 minute mark Taute was denied the opportunity to score a hat trick when he was hauled down off the ball by George Worth resulting in a yellow card for the full back and a penalty try for Munster. Bleyendaal who put in an immense kicking display stepped up to convert the try in what was the last scoring action of the game bringing the score to 38-0 in favour of the Munster men. Man of the match CJ Stander was the stand out player in an overall superb performance by the men in red. Definitely one for Leicester to forget going into next week and while Munster will enjoy the celebrations tonight, they will be back training hard during the week expecting a backlash from the tigers next weekend.
