Racing 92 have been on the hunt for a medical joker following the retirement of former Springbok flyhalf Pat Lambie.
The Paris-based club have looked at the likes of Clermont's Pato Fernandez, Handre Pollard and Francois Trinh-Duc all being linked with the club.
Dan Carter's name has also been mentioned in Paris and according to RMC Sport the club is in the final stages of securing the World Cup Winner's services.
RMC Sport reports that Carter has agreed a deal with the club that will see him return to Paris for the remainder of the European season before returning to the Kobelco Steelers.
Racing 92 president Jacky Lorenzetti has denied the links but a source inside the club told RMC Sport that Racing are waiting on a release from Kobelco Steelers.
The report also suggests that Racing 92 have signed Trinh-Duc a new two-year deal and will join the club next season.
In Friday's edition of French rugby magazine Midi Olympique, Manu Tuilagi has also been linked with Racing 92 with the paper stating that he has been offered a tw-year deal, with an option of another year, with the club but Leicester Tigers have also offered him a similar deal.
