Big loss for Ireland's front row
- 1789
Ireland have been dealt a blow with the news that powerful prop Andrew Porter has been ruled out for the remainder of the Six Nations.
Porter has undergone an ankle scan which did not yield positive news and the 26 year-old now faces a long spell on the sidelines.
Ireland head coach Andy Farrell said:
“He went over on his ankle slightly [against Italy]. He was running it off and he would have been able to carry on but we thought we’d get him off at that stage.”
Leinster’s Cian Healy and Munster’s Dave Kilcoyne will compete to fill the significant void left by Porter going forward.
