Ben Franks on brother Owen's All Blacks try drought
- 2071
Former All Blacks prop Ben Franks has paid tribute to his brother Owen saying his brother won't be fussed about reaching 100 international Test caps for New Zealand.
Ben Franks plays for the Northampton Saints and said his brother won't be happy about having the limelight on him.
He also said his brother remained unconcerned about his 99-Test try drought.
"I don't think Owen will give two s**** about a try.
"I don't think the All Blacks base their point-scoring tally on a tight-head prop. You know his job is to scrum and his work-rate around the field."
Ben said his brother's focus will be doing his job at set-piece.
"You pick the guys like the Beauden Barrett's to do that stuff. How many scrums has Beauden Barrett packed down?"
Ben played 42 Tests for the All Blacks and says the 100 caps milestone is a proud moment.
"It's an amazing achievement.
"Me and Owen talk almost weekly, text almost daily and we almost never talk about rugby.
"I'm sure from Owen's point of view it is just another game, like it is not an important one."
