Andries Coetzee has reinvented the wheel with inexplicable passing technique

Lions and Springbok fullback Andries Coetzee appears to have taken a liking to a truly unorthodox kind of pass, the kind that's usually seen during warm-ups on the training field. Saturday wasn't the first time he's done it either, as you can see here with another clip from last year.  It's quite effective for bulleting a ball across field, but one has to ask, wouldn't the same have been achieved by passing normally?
