Harri Morgan had replaced Dafydd Buckland at scrum-half but soon succumbed to injury.

Wales sent Buckland back on but Irish referee Joy Neville raced to the touchline to check with officials whether Morgan had suffered a head injury.

He hadn’t so Buckland was ushered to the sidelines, flanker Ioan Rhys Davies coming on and left-wing Dewi Cross switching to scrum-half.
