Saracens ran out 28-17 victors over Clermont Auvergne in this Champions Cup final clash from Murrayfield. The defending champions got off to a flying start scoring two tries in the opening 22 minutes. Clermont hit back with a try of their own, leaving the score at 12-7 to Sarries going in at the break. Clermont came out firing in the second half with a beautiful try from Nick Abendanon which Parra duly converted bringing the challengers within one point of Sarries. Both sides went on to exchange penalties but the final nail in the Clermont coffin came in the form of an Alex Goode try in the 73rd minute. Clermont played extremely well today and at some points today it really looked like it may finally be their year. However, the champions just had too much class and were able to see out the victory in a remarkable fashion. What a game of rugby this was.

This final was so much better than last year's kick fest with Racing.
