The Newcastle Falcons take a 16-15 lead over Toulon into halftime. Toulon got off to the perfect start, with a try in the opening minute, with a penalty soon after making it 10-0. Newcastle hit back with a penalty before crossing for their first try to level it up at 10-10. The Falcons were on top and slotted a further two penalties to lead 16-10. Toulon responded with a try just before halftime to trail by a single point at the break.
