That's the Aviva premiership regular season wrapped up. Quinns are heading to Welford road to defend their tittle. Saints go to table toppers Saracens. The Saints will look put an end to their poor record in previos Premiership semi finals.
Be sure to check back here tomorrow for highlights of this match and we will have coverage of next weekends semi-finals.
Monye exploits an overlap and breaks into the Saints 22m but as he steps the last defender he slips just 3 metres from the line! SO CLOSE!!
A simple over lap created the scoring chance for Day. A series of good play with numerous offloads preceded making it difficult for the Quinns to set a defensive line.
Dylan 'The Lion' Hartley scores from the back of a rolling maul. Quinns might be lucky there, if they hadn't scored there it looked as if the ref might have given a penalty try and a yellow to Easter.
Care takes quick penalty on the 22m, catching the Saints defence on the back foot which allows him to make 15m. Easter passes to Cassan from the base of a quick ruck and Cassan crosses to extend the lead to 15points.
Very clever play from Buchannan. He gets an offload from 10m out, he pumps his legs, taking 3 would be tacklers with him, he bundles his way to the line and dots the ball down at the base of the post cover.
The Saints will be rueing their inaccuracy, if it wasn't for the TMO and and Myler's poor kicks Northampton could be 7 points ahead. Both sides have had a share of possession with Quinns making more use from it. The last 10minutes saw the game really open up with some great end to end rugby. Both teams will look to come out in the 2nd half and capitalise on their opportunities and deny the opponents any scoring chances through better discipline. Everything to play for here at the Stoop, stay tuned!
@Ben, too right!! The game is really starting to open up, a turnover in Quinns territory allows Brown to kick into an open field. Elliot makes to back to cover but he is swarmed by Quinns players. Unfortunately for Quinns they ruck past the ball and Dickson is in quickly to steal the ball back.
WOO!
Foden receives a wide pass and as he runs towards the touchline he kicks the ball past the last two defenders for Elliot to run onto.
