Eng take a 16-12 lead over Arg into halftime. The sides exchanged early penalties before a second for Arg saw them up 6-3 after the opening 15 minutes. Ten minutes later, Eng went over for the first try of the match to lead 10-6. A flurry of penalties inside the final 10 minute minutes of the half saw the sides alternate two apiece as Eng hold a four point advantage at the break.
