Clermont take a 13-12 lead over La Rochelle into halftime. Clermont got on the board with an early penalty, but two La Rochelle shots at goal saw them up 6-3. Clermont then crossed for the only try of the half near it's midpoint to hit the front 10-6. The sides traded penalties thereafter before another La Rochelle kick at goal just before the break sees them trail by a single point at halftime.
