Cardiff take a 12-6 lead over Munster into halftime. Cardiff got off to an ideal start with a try just three minutes in to lead 5-0. Munster got on the board with a penalty approaching the midpoint of the half and they edged ahead with a second shot at goal around the half hour mark. Cardiff went over for their second try just before halftime to hold a six point advantage at the break.
