Good day and welcome to what could be Canterbury's final Ranfurly Shield defence of the season. Canterbury have been in fantastic form this season and have only had one blemish on their record this season, a 60-14 loss to Wellington. Should Canterbury win this match they will not need to defend the Shield again this season, but if Taranaki are able to claim a victory they will have to put the Log o Wood up against Manawatu next Wednesday. Since their loss to Wellington, Canterbury beat North Harbour 28-41 and followed that up with a 37-17 victory over Waikato.
