Fiji enter this match coming off the back of what was in the end a convincing defeat to England. However, in what was the RWC opener, the Fijians more than held their own for long periods of the match, with Nadolo in particular a real threat on the left wing. Fiji make four changes to the side that lost to England, including at blindside flanker where Dominiko Waqaniburotu has been ruled out of the match after being suspended for a dangerous tackle against England.

Having come out of a good Rugby Championship campaign, Australia will be full of confidence in this fixture. They name their srongest possible side, with the likes of Israel Folau, Adam Ashley-Cooper and Will Genia all starting in the backline. In the pack, the back-row sees the inclusion of two world class open side flankers in David Pocock and Michael Hooper. Michael Cheika, the Australian coach, has denied that there are any tactics behind the selection, simply that both are too good to leave out of the side.
