Kgosietsile Thole, commonly known as Kgosi was born on the 15 August 1995 in a small town called Kroonstad, in the Free State. Kgosi spend the early stages of his life in the free state where his love for sports began. From a young age, Kgosi was involved in soccer and cricket but eventually fell in love with rugby after being for chosen for the u13A rugby team at only 11 years old. This came after impressing the coaches with his skill and speed, which landed him the number 11 jersey.
He then went on to play as a winger for the next 5 years, until he unfortunately suffered an injury and was ruled out for 6 months. Upon his return he was not in the best physical condition which saw him play as a prop. He regained his fitness and moved to open-side flanker where he flourished and became a regular starter in the u19A team.
After his school career ended, he went on to play for local teams such as Helderberg, Western Zebras and Busy Bees where he featured in their first teams.
