Giacomo Nicotera, born on July 15, 1996, is an Italian professional rugby union player who primarily plays as a hooker for Benetton in the United Rugby Championship.
Nicotera has played for several clubs in the past, including Mogliano, San Donà, and Rovigo. While under contract with Rovigo Delta, a Top10 side, he was named as a Permit Player for Benetton during the 2020-21 Pro14 and 2021-22 United Rugby Championship seasons.
He made his debut for Benetton in the rearranged Round 4 match of the 2020-21 Pro14 against Connacht, marking his first appearance for the team.
In terms of his international career, Nicotera was selected by Alessandro Troncon to be part of an Italy A 28-man squad for the 2021 end-of-year rugby union internationals. Subsequently, on January 13, 2022, he was chosen by coach Kieran Crowley to join the Italy 33-man squad for the 2022 Six Nations Championship. He made his international debut against Scotland in the tournament.
