Darren Adonis is a product of the rugby powerhouse in the South Western Cape, Hoër Landbouskool Oakdale, in Riversdale. He is an attack-minded outside back, and equally comfortable on the wing or at fullback.
The fleet-footed player is very much in the same mould as Malcolm Jaer, and has the ability to create tries out of nowhere, and is a good finisher as well. He has played mainly for the Toyota Free State XV in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge, and made one appearance for the senior Cheetahs side during the 2018/19 Guinness PRO14.
