The 23-year old has been part of the Scottish Rugby Elite Development set-up for over a year, having spent a season attached to Glasgow Warriors and comes to Edinburgh hoping to further his rugby development. Educated at Gala Academy, the young back progressed through youth Rugby at Gala Wanderers, Selkirkshire Blues and Western Wanderers whilst representing the Borders from U16s through to U18s.
In terms of Senior rugby, Bruce has continued to impress during spells at Gala.
In 2015, he obtained a degree in Business Management from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
