Carlile comes from East Yorkshire having attended Pocklington School and played at Hull Ionians. He signed his first professional contract with Yorkshire Carnegie in the summer of 2018.
Having previously trained with Steve Diamond's side, featuring for Sale Sharks in the Premiership Rugby Shield, Carlile signed a deal with the side in January 2020.
