Hailing from Coventry, England, Geraghty plies his trade primarily as a flyhalf but can also operate comfortably in the centre. A ball distributor, Geraghty began his professional career at London Irish in 2004.
After five years, he moved on to Northampton Saints where he spent a further two years before joining Brive in the French Top 14. In the summer of 2012, Geraghty returned to London Irish. The flyhalf has also represented England at full national level, making his debut in 2008.
After notching up 610 points in 167 appearances for Irish, Shane signed a deal with Bristol until the end of the 2017 season.
After relegation from the Premiership, Geraghty was released from his contract at Bristol.
In August 2017, he signed a deal to join Top 14 side Stade Francais as medical joker for the injured Meyer Bosman.
