Tala'apitaga debuted for the Bay of Plenty Steamers during the 2011 ITM Cup,and became a regular member of the squad in 2013.
Tala'apitaga had a good 2014 campaign personally and was rewarded with a Super Rugby contract when the Dunedin-based Highlanders signed him up for the 2015 season.
