Yacare Roster for Super Rugby Americas 2025

Paraguay’s professional rugby team, Yacare, is preparing for Super Rugby Americas 2025. The roster for the new season is deep, it contains 41 players: 22 forwards and 19 backs. Twenty of the Yacare roster players are from Argentina.

The team will again be coached by Ricardo Le Fort. The Argentine is a former Puma. 2025 will be his third year in charge at the Estadio Héroes de Curupayty. Le Fort’s coaching team also consists of Ramiro Peman and Juan Ávila.

The Super Rugby Americas 2025 season falls in the key year of the final rounds of Rugby World Cup 2027n Qualification. Paraguay will face Uruguay at the Semi Finals stage of South American qualifiers. The winner will face wither Brazil or Chile. Paraguay have a massive mountain to climb and Super Rugby Americas will act as a bridge.

Yacare open Super Rugby Americas 2025 at home against Selknam, The February 15 fixture will be followed by an away assignment against two-time champions Peñarol in Montevideo, Uruguay on February 21.

Mariano Muntaner is back to play again in Paraguay. The Argentine hooker has previously played in Spain. Additional beef from Argentina arrives in the former of Enzo Egea, a tight head prop from Tucumán.

Santiago Ruiz had a stint with Benetton in the United Rugby Championship (URC). The flanker is the brother of Pumas hooker Ignacio Ruiz. Both are former Super Rugby Americas champions with the Jaguares XV.

Julián Quetglas previously played for the Olímpia Lions. The former Pumita is back to add spice from fullback. Fly half Valentino Dicapua joins from reigning Super Rugby Americas champions Los Dogos. The arrival of Quetzals and Dicapura combined with the retention of Joaquín Lamas give Yacare excellent play-making depth.
