Wounded Wasps to host the Cherry & Whites

After their dispiriting result last weekend, Wasps retreated back to the Ricoh Arena to regroup ahead of this week’s clash with the Cherry & Whites.
Lee Blackett’s men were undone by a defiant London Irish outfit in Round 11, the latter putting their best foot forward from the get-go with a vigorous start which hatched some valuable momentum onto which they were able to hold for the remainder of the game.
Meanwhile, Gloucester posted their second win of the campaign last weekend – against Worcester Warriors – and will be hoping it was a sign of things to come as they march to the Ricoh Arena this week.
After finishing runners-up in the 2019-20 campaign, Wasps appear slightly off the pace in the current one, now occupying 8th position on the table, 2 points behind Northampton and just a single point ahead of Leicester Tigers.
George Skivington’s charges, as touched on above, have much room for improvement and are stone-last in the pecking order as things stand, 2 points behind Worcester. They will draw some encouragement, however, from their last outing against Wasps – which ended in a 40-24 victory for them at Kingsholm.
