The Springboks have maintained their status as the number one side in the world after defeating England 29-20 on Saturday evening.
The Springboks started the week as the number one side in the world.
Now, South Africa have increased their gap at the top after beating England.
SPRINGBOKS EXTEND THEIR GAP AT THE TOP
Ireland scrapped past Argentina with a narrow 22-19 victory in Dublin on Friday evening.
Thereafter, the Irish accumulated an additional 0.20 points to their overall tally. So, Ireland now sit on 90.78 points (up from 90.58 at the start of the week).
However, this not enough to see them leap frog South Africa.
In fact, by virtue of SA’s 29-20 win over England, the Boks have extended their gap over the Irish. Albeit, very slightly. The Springboks added 0.32 points to their tally which sees SA on 92.78 points, as the world’s number one ranked rugby side.
Meaning, they have extended their gap over their Irish rivals by 0.12 this weekend. Here are the latest world rankings.
