Top Performers: Highlanders v Hurricanes
- 1735
Another classic New Zealand is done and dusted with the Highlanders coming away with the spoils over the Hurricanes.
Here are our Top Performers from the clash:
Waisake Naholo
Another superb performance by the All Black winger, again making over 100 running metres beat 4 defenders and made two clean breaks.
Not to forget his 2 offloads and yet another try to add to the other 6 he scored before today's game.
The Smiths
Ben and Aaron Smith were the driving forces yet again in another Highlanders victory.
Ben Smith sliced through the Hurricanes defence and found the nippy halfback in support to score a crucial try just after the break.
Aaron Smith also made a smart choice to take a quick tap at the end of the first half which led to a try ultimately giving the Highlanders the lead at the break.
Both also combined extremely well with Lima Sopoaga throughout the game.
Ardie Savea
Savea has now strung a number of successive top-notch performances together heading into the June Test and was one of the best Hurricanes players today.
He was physical through and hit double digits in the tackle (17) and carrying (10) stats beating match-high of 6 defenders and won 2 turnovers.
Jeffery Toomaga-Allen
A busy day at the office for the Hurricanes tighthead. He made 11 tackles without missing a single one.
He also got his name on the scoresheet when he ran a great line off the shoulder of Julian Savea and was superb at scrum time against a very capable Daniel Lienert-Brown.
