Super Rugby Round 8: Highlanders v Hurricanes

The Hurricanes held on for a 31-28 away win over the Highlanders in round 8 of Super Rugby. The sides each ran in two first half tries to head into the break deadlocked at 14-14. An early second half penalty saw the Hurricanes in front, but the Highlanders hit back with two tries to take control of the match at 28-17 heading into the final quarter. The Hurricanes needed a response and respond they did, with two tries in quick succession to storm in front 31-28. An intense finished followed, with the Highlanders turning down kicks for the draw to go for the win. The Hurricanes picked up a yellow card with time up on the clock, but despite their numerical disadvantage managed to keep the Highlanders out at the death.
