The second game of Round 6 of the Super Rugby AU kicked off between the Waratahs and the Queensland Reds at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The Reds last week, lost away to the Brumbies in a thrilling 22-20 encounter. While the Waratah comes back from a bye. Waratahs started the game with more intent. Harrison got the Waratahs on the board in the 4th minute with a kick at Goal. Gordon scored a try in the 9th minute after a brilliant piece of play from Ramm who chipped the ball over the defender before offloading the ball. Gordon scored his second try 7 minutes with a quick tap penalty in front of the posts. Campbell was substituted in the 17th minute and was replaced by Jack Hardy. The Waratahs continued to dominate the half and Gordon's first half hattrick sealed the half for the Waratahs who led 38-0 at the break. The Waratahs continued with their superb form into the second half. Hardy scored the first points for the Reds in the 54th minute with a try. O'Connor kicked the ball across the field, Maddocks tried to gather the ball but lost it and Hardy picked the ball up and scored. Zane Nonggorr was sent to the bin in the 77th minute for repeated team infringements in the 22m area. The Reds won a penalty on the 80th minute and opted for touch. McDermott caught the ball from the line out, broke the defensive line before offloading to the O'Connor who raced over the goal line to end a bad day of rugby for the Reds.
