Sunday Round-Up
- 2005
Saracens down Leicester: Saracens recorded an important 22-6 win over fellow play-off hopefuls Leicester in the Aviva Premiership yesterday to move 2nd in the table. Billy Vunipola, Marcelo Bosch and Chris Wyles went over for the hosts as they managed to see off Richard Cockerill's men quite handy. Tigers stay fourth but have a considerbly tougher run in with trips to Wasps and Northampton to come leaving a top 4 finish far from certain with Exeter and Wasps chasing. Saracens now slighty favourites for the home semi-final with them and Bath level on 61 points, it will be an interesting end to the season for sure.
Oyonnax shock Clermont at home: Oyonanax claimed a memorable away win in Clermont yesterday as they moved into the top 6 and ended Clermont's 12 game winning run. Clermont had changed all of their starting XV from the previous week's thrashing of Northampton Saints in the Champions Cup and looked to be heading for victory when Brock James put them 10-8 up with 10 minutes to go, however Ben Urdipaletta had other ideas converting a penalty with 5 to go to put the away side ahead.
