Six Nations Round 2 - Irish Preview

Ireland Senior Men

Ireland square up to Wales on Saturday for Round 2 with a brace of changes from the team that defeated Scotland last week. Peter O’Mahony comes in for the injured Caelan Doris and Robbie Henshaw replaces Garry Ringrose in the centres.

Coach Andy Farrell anticipates an improved performance by the Irish pack.

Two noteworthy inclusions on the bench are uncapped loose-forward Max Deegan and now recovered Keith Earls.

Venue: Aviva Stadium

Kick-off 2.15pm.

Ireland U20s

Ireland U20 head coach Noel McNamara has made two changes to his side for their clash against Wales on Saturday. In the backs, winger Ben Moxham steps in for Ethan McIlroy while, in the forwards, Marcus Hanan takes up a spot in the front row.

Assistant coach Kieran Campbell is wary of Wales’ ‘underdog’ tag, saying his side will have to weather a storm of emotion, especially in the opening stages.

Venue: Irish Independent Park

Kick-off 7.15pm

Ireland Women

Head coach Adam Griggs named an extended squad of 27 players for the Irish women’s duel with the Welsh on Saturday.

Hooker Cliodhna Moloney is still going through the motions of the HIA test protocol and is thus in doubt, prompting the call-up of replacement Neve Jones. Similarly, Hannah Tyrell is on stand-by for Eimear Considine who is being monitored and will undergo a fitness test on Friday before a final call is made.

The final team will be named on Friday morning.

Venue: Donnybrook

Kick-off 1pm.
