Harlequins have announced that Ross Chisholm has been appointed to the full-time role of Harlequins Women Attack and Transition Coach.
The Club stalwart, who retired from playing at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, will make the transition to full-time coaching and form an integral part of Head Coach Amy Turner’s high-performance structure.
The 32-year-old, who amassed 128 first-team appearances, spent this season in a part-time coaching capacity, assisting Harlequins Women with their skills and attack.
Commenting on his new position, Ross said: “It’s a very special feeling to remain at the Club and take on this exciting new role with Harlequins Women.
“I have loved my time working with Amy Turner and Brent Janse van Rensburg and I’m looking forward to making the move to full-time coaching and driving our Women’s Programme to be the very best in the country.
“Harlequins Women are doing so much great work for the growth of the sport and I’m excited to help the squad continue to push boundaries and raise the profile of women’s rugby, with this Saturday’s Game Changer against Wasps a prime example of the Club’s commitment.”
Head Coach Amy Turner commented: “We’re thrilled to have Ross joining our programme on a full-time basis. He has been an exceptional member of the coaching structure this season and I’m looking forward to the experience and expertise he can bring to this exciting new role.
“Ross becomes the third full-time member of our coaching structure and highlights the commitment and ambition of the Club towards building the best Women’s Programme in the Northern Hemisphere.”
Director of Rugby Performance Billy Millard added: “We’re very excited to have Ross remain at the Club and commit his long-term future to Harlequins Women.
“Ross is a true Harlequin who has enjoyed fantastic success as a player, earning the respect of his teammates, coaches, and the Quins faithful. He is also a very talented coach and I have no doubt Ross is ready to make an immediate impact as a full-time coach and we’re excited to see the difference he will make.”
The Women's Programme continues to develop its wide range of player support with further roles to be launched this week, including a Head of Athletic Performance, Performance Analyst and Women's Physiotherapist.
