Racing 92 in the hunt for Bordeaux scalp
- 1250
Third-placed Racing 92 will view Round 19 as an opportunity to climb the ladder towards the coveted number 1 spot as they await Bordeaux’s arrival at Paris La Defense Arena.
Racing boast 9 wins from their 13 fixtures thus far with 41 points on the log. They are currently on a run of four straight victories, the most recent one coming on 3 January against Clermont in a great contest which ended 24-22 in their favour. It took a last-gasp try from Simon Zebo and the extras added by Finn Russell for them to enjoy victory over a determined Clermont side.
Bordeaux are hovering around the mid-table in sixth position after 7 wins from their 14 outings. The last time they were in action they managed to put together a strong, 31-9 victory over Lyon at Stade Chaban-Delmas. It was a game which Bordeaux entered as slight underdogs, but a game which they made their own with a powerful comeback after Lyon drew first blood.
Interestingly, Bordeaux had the better of Racing the last time they met in the 2019-20 tournament – although only four points separated the teams at the final whistle. It was a different story in the most recent clash – on 5 December – where Racing tasted revenge with a 17-12 victory over Bordeaux in the 13th round.
This one should be a good clash to watch between two sides who that have displayed good form of late.
