Lions vs Bulls: The Top Performers

Round 11 of the United Rugby Championship is well underway. Match day two got under way in Johannesburg as The Lions welcomed the inform Bulls in a mouthwatering South African derby. Akker van der Merwe
What more can be said about the in-form hooker who came off the bench to score his 8th try in only his 9 appearances. Although he did not start the game, van der Merwe made a huge impact coming on after the 60th minute and made 28 metres off only 4 carries, while beating three defenders in the process. 2 tackles was how he contributed to the defense, ending a great game for an impact player.
Jordan Hendrikse
It seems as though it was a day for the impact players, as Lions substitute Jordan Hendrikse came in and made some amazing numbers. With only 4 carries, the speedster gained 46 metres with ball in hand, beating one defender in the process and completing one offload. Hendrikse also completed 4 passes, while remaining strong on defense with 5 tackles made
