Jasper Wiese cited

Springbok number 8 Jasper Wiese is in hot water ahead of this weekend’s mammoth clash with the All Blacks. 

In the 78th minute of the Boks’ recent defeat to the Wallabies, Wiese was yellow carded by referee Matthew Carley for an attempted clean-out. 

However, in the wake of the match, the Citing Commissioner concluded that the incident had met the Red Card threshold for foul play. 

Wiese is accused of contravening Law 9.12: “A player must not physically abuse anyone”, and will appear at a SANZAAR Judicial Committee Hearing on the evening of 21 September.
