The 24-capped Wallaby will join fellow Australian James O’Connor in Jason Gilmore’s Barbarians squad for the highly anticipated clash with Quins at The Stoop on Saturday 7 October.
The hard-tackling centre made his Test debut for Australia against New Zealand in 2020, before featuring in all three matches as the Wallabies secured a 2-1 series win over France in 2021. He also played nine of the Wallabies 14 matches in 2022, including matches against England in Brisbane and Sydney.
At club level, the 25-year-old made his Super Rugby debut for the Queensland Reds in 2020, making a powerful impression in his first season, featuring in 15 of the Reds 17 matches.
Speaking ahead of the match, Hunter said: “I’m looking forward to pulling on the famous Barbarians shirt and taking on Quins. I have heard great things about The Stoop and I’m excited to run out for the Baabaas and show what we can do in front of a big crowd.”
Barbarians Head Coach Jason Gilmore added: “Having Hunter in our squad is very exciting. He’s a quality operator who will bring plenty of experience to our Barbarians back-line. He is physical in attack and defence, but also loves to play with speed and tempo, making him a dangerous prospect.”
