Hope Rogers to earn 50th international test cap with USA Women’s Eagles

As the starting prop for Friday’s match, Rogers will become only the second Eagle to hit the 50-cap mark for the program behind former teammate Jamie Burke, who holds the title for most caps at 51. 

Rogers began playing rugby at age 16 in high school, and continued to compete while studying at Penn State University. There, she won four National Championships, was crowned MVP on two occasions, was named to the USA Under-20s and earned Collegiate All-American honors for four years.

She earned her first cap with the USA Women’s Eagles against France in June 2013, moving on to appear at the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2014, where she earned an All-World Cup Team honor by Scrumqueens. 2014 would be her first of three Rugby World Cup selections, so far, and continues to make big impacts on the pitch. 

On the incredible achievement of earning 50 caps, Rogers said, “For me, it's always been trying to enjoy every moment you get. You don't always know when your last cap will be. I am a girl with big aspirations, so it was definitely something I wanted but I'm just enjoying each moment."

Rogers and the USA Women’s Eagles will take on Ireland from BC Place in Vancouver, October 11 at 3:30PM ET
