Harlequins statement: Luke Wallace and Jonas Mikalcius

Harlequins have confirmed that flanker Luke Wallace dislocated his hip during the pre-season friendly against London Irish on Saturday.

He will undergo surgery next week and following this, a more accurate assessment will be given on his expected return to play.

Academy winger Jonas Mikalcius underwent surgery last week for a multi-ligament reconstruction of his left knee, which included his ACL, as a result of an injury sustained in the recent Premiership Rugby Singha 7s Series. The winger will be out of action for the entire 2017/18 season.

“We are all wishing Luke and Jonas the very best for their recovery,” Harlequins Director of Rugby John Kingston said.

“The road back to full fitness will be a long one, but they are both very resilient characters and I know they will be determined to do all that they can to come back stronger.”
