Georgia’s Head Coach, Levan Maisashvili, is currently on a ventilator in South Africa after Covid-19 has caused “serious damage” to his lungs, according to a report in the Associated Press.
Maisashvili is receiving expert treatment in one of South Africa’s top medical facilities while the country fights against the grip of a troubling third wave.
Five members of the Georgian touring party tested positive for the virus after the first test against the Springboks, which subsequently led to the cancellation of the second test.
"Everything is being done to improve Levan Maisashvili’s condition," Georgia Rugby said in a statement.
